The Great LEAN Run (TGLR) is a joint undertaking by the UP Sandigan para sa Mag-aaral at Sambayanan Alumni (UP SAMASA) and the UP Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs (UP OVCSA). It is a celebration of the life of Leandro L. Alejandro, one-time UP Student Council Chairman, and the most popular youth leader during the turbulent Martial Law years. He continues to be a prime example of how the youth can effect change through critical thought and social involvement.
Get ready for an adventure in history. Warm up with your comrades and fellow citizens who must preserve life, liberty, and property.
Enter no-man's land: Mud crawl. Military wall. Hurdles. Anti-riot squad. Water-cannon obstacle. Tear-gas obstacle. Survive them all!
To be considered a survivor, you must have at least one ribbon at the finish line. Help and get help from your fellow citizens.
Living through Martial Law is no easy feat. It may be history, but this race is about reminding ourselves the fight is not yet over.
